1. Who we are

Backyard Timing ("the service") is provided by Dejan Krle, Vangel Dinu str. 6B, 1000 Skopje, North Macedonia (morigatto@gmail.com). By creating an account you agree to these terms.

2. The service

Backyard Timing lets race directors time backyard-format races: a phone timer app, check-in, live results pages, a TV screen and an archive of past editions. We keep improving it, so features may change over time.

3. Your account

• You must be 18 or older and give a real name and email address.
• Keep your password and your races' timer PINs secret. You are responsible for what happens with your account.
• One account per person. You may let helpers use the timer app with your race PIN.

4. Your races and your runners' data

• You own the content you add (race details, logos, runner lists, results). You allow us to store it and show it on the results pages, only to provide the service.
• You may only upload runner data you are allowed to share, and you are responsible for informing your runners that results are published online (see the privacy policy).
• Do not upload content that is illegal, offensive, or that you have no right to use (for example someone else's logo).

5. Results are your responsibility

The service calculates laps, late finishes and the winner from the taps entered by your timers. Timing depends on people, phones and internet connections, so check the results before you announce them as official. You can correct laps at any time. Always have a backup (a second timing phone, and paper for the critical last laps).

6. Prices and payments

• Free: your first race, every race with up to 25 checked-in runners, and charity races (with a code from us).
• Race Pass ($39): one race, all features.
• Season ($79 per year): unlimited races for 12 months. It renews every year until you cancel; you can cancel at any time and keep it until the end of the paid year.
• Founder Lifetime ($149): unlimited races for as long as Backyard Timing is offered. Limited to the first 50 buyers.
• Paid plans are sold by our reseller Lemon Squeezy, who is the "merchant of record": they process the payment, charge VAT where required and send the receipt. Their buyer terms also apply to the purchase.
• Prices may change in the future; a change never affects a plan you have already paid for.
• Up to 25 runners can check in to any race for free. Runner number 26 can only check in when the race is covered by a plan (your free first race, a Race Pass, a Season or a Founder plan). Your free first race or an unused Race Pass is used automatically at that moment.
• There is no time limit: a covered race stays covered until it ends, however many hours or days it lasts – also if a Season plan ends during the race.

7. Refunds

If you are not happy, write to us. A Race Pass is refunded in full if you ask before the race starts. A Season or Founder plan is refunded in full within 14 days of buying, if no race with more than 25 runners was timed with it. Consumers keep all rights the law gives them.

8. Availability

We do our best to keep the service running day and night – we know a backyard can last for days. The timer app keeps working without internet and sends taps when the connection is back. Still, we cannot promise that the service is never interrupted, and maintenance may sometimes be needed (never announced during a weekend we know races are on, if we can avoid it).

9. Liability

The service is provided "as is". As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damage (for example a disputed result, lost sponsorship or lost profit), and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for intent or gross negligence.

10. Ending

You can stop using the service and delete your races at any time; ask us to delete your account. We may suspend accounts that break these terms or misuse the service (for example uploading illegal content or attacking the platform). If we ever close the service, we will tell you at least 90 days before and let you download your results.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Important changes are announced at least 30 days before they apply. If you keep using the service after that, the new terms apply.

12. Law

These terms are governed by the law of North Macedonia. Disputes go to the competent courts in Skopje, unless the law of your country says otherwise for consumers.
